CUTTING TUNA DOOR IN STERN OF INBOARD
I HAVE A 1983 25' SEA VEE INBOARD BOAT. IT IS MUCH THE SAME AS A SEA CRAFT. HAS ANYONE EVER TRIED TO FABRICATE A TUNA DOOR? I AM SURE YOU WOULD HAVE TO STRENGTHEN THE SURROUNDING AREA AND FOAM TOO. ANY OPINIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Re: CUTTING TUNA DOOR IN STERN OF INBOARD
First off, welcome to the site-Im sure a door is possible but it would not be an easy job. The See Vee is a nice boat, and i really like the lines. Is it a 3 piece or 2 piece hull? The seacraft is 3 piece. So all 3 pieces would have to be modified. There is no foam in the transom of the seacraft however the void is probably 8 inches or so from the transom hatch back to the the transom itself. Im pretty sure, no, I know some of the guys on this site could do it,and I would like to see one myself. The inner hull deck on my boat is not much higher than the waterline though so that would be a big consideration as well. I think your sea-vee at 25' is actually a lot bigger boat than the 23 s/c. good luck , lets see some pix/porn of your boat! craig

Re: CUTTING TUNA DOOR IN STERN OF INBOARD
It seems like there was a boat on here a while back that had a closed transom with a door in it. Maybe Hermco?
