TRAILER QUESTIONS
Been reading topics on roller trailer etc.......
I am selling my roller trailer to my neighbor so I am currently looking for a new drive on type trailer for my 20'. I know I should go with aluminum..but when I call around..prices vary dramatically from dealer to dealer... What is a good all around aluminum trailer out there that would work good for my application and won't cost over $2500 in Florida???? I will be using it for occassional towing to the boatramp and possibly up to MS. What options do I need if any..and do I need brakes, dual or single axle etc. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated!!! -FRED

Re: TRAILER QUESTIONS
Get the Stainless Steele Bolt Option & S/S Disc Brakes
http://www.nextrailofamerica.com/ BTW: You also can check with some of the marinas with in/out storage bldgs., like Riverwatch. Ask them if any one of their customers are selling their trailers since the boat is being kept inside. You be able to score a decent used one.......

Re: TRAILER QUESTIONS
fred i have a aluminum drive on trailer from torino trailers. it was $1800 and is 2 axles. i did have an issue with the trailer u bolts on the axle but i fixed that. the next thing was the guide post rusted from the inside out. and yes i do rinse them from the inside. i dont know if you were interested in driving to miami for a trailer or not. it might have just been my trailer but i always see alot of them at the ramp so they all cant be bad can they??

Re: TRAILER QUESTIONS
Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone have an opinion on Hi-Tech trailers?

Re: TRAILER QUESTIONS
I only have a single axle and no brakes and its fine, you are under 3000 lbs and that shouldn't need brakes. I trailered my 23 without them, might have been there but know they didn't work. Mine is a Fast Load made in Plant City, that and Owens & Sons appear to be very good. I know they make them with different axles for load, I'm sure they have a dealer over there and both have websites. There are a couple people in Gibsonton that apparently are cheaper I've heard but not sure what they cut.

Re: TRAILER QUESTIONS
I have a Hi-Tech for my 27 and my dad has one for his 23 Seacraft. Awesome trailer, no major problems, great customer service, all stainless hardware and torsion axles. I recommend the Kodiak ALL STAINLESS BRAKES. I have had it for over 6 years and the brakes are perfect. My dad did not get the stainless brakes (Got the coated ones becasue the stainless were back ordered) His trailer is newer and he had to do some work on the brakes. The trailer itself is fine.

Re: TRAILER QUESTIONS
He has a 20 and the brakes never work anyway, unless you spend 3K a year fixing them.

Re: TRAILER QUESTIONS
Thanks Dixon...
will call around on your side..might be worth a trip.....you guys have quite alot of trailer people over there...not having to have brakes should save me some money too.. Capt. Chuck..called marinas and a good friend of mine as well for used trailers..still waiting on a callback...might try calling ez loader again in Port St. Lucie and see what they can come up with for under 2500!! -FRED
