Side scuppers on 23 sceptre I/O 1978 Hull
Hello
Has anyone figured out a good draining method or fixture for the side scuppers WITHOUT Having to leave a drain plug in them? Water comes in pretty good when just one person stands in back. They are pretty well below water line. Thanks so much |

The gentlemen before me just used drain plugs in them all the time

Raising the floor is your only option other than plugging them. Mine are raised and oval with deflectors on them. I will never go back to transom drains..... ever.

So yours are never under water ? Do you have pictures of the outside by chance?
When you say you will never go back to transom drains you mean you would rather have them out of the side like in my pictures ? I wonder if deflectors would help me ? Good idea QUOTE=kmoose;253858]Raising the floor is your only option other than plugging them. Mine are raised and oval with deflectors on them. We had a 71 23 IO. The drains were through the deck. It was nice because when moving there was a Venturi effect siphoning water. We never plugged the drains

Was the side drains factory layout or through floor?

My 1977 23' Sceptre has the thru the floor design. I think that was the only way they came.
