Default 18sf portabracket

looking into closing my transom or raising it 5inches this off season I have a 20in shaft Yamaha 115 2 stroke that performs perfect on the boat been looking at ability to extend foot to 25in shaft but can't find any info on it. contenplated a bracket on closed transom but so many mixed reviews. I love my ride and performance and don't wanna jeperdise its ride quality but my transom keeps the deck wet and I have to keep plugs in drains. really isn't huge deal unless drifting or anchored but I wanna dive off the boat and don't wanna come up to to no boat or have a boat meet me at the bottom. another thought was raising transom and doing portabracket so I could lower engine and may gain some performance by raising it once on a plane but then again same ride quality issues everyone says on smaller boats with setback engine. anyone know wats involved on converting my 2 stroke yams to 25in shaft? or tried a portabracket on 18sf

My 18 is dangerously near being finished at the glass shop. I have a post on here, but, my technological skills suffer and I've been slammed at work so I'm lagging. However, Should be reassembling her next week and I'll finish the post. If there was a 300 lb. 150hp 4 stroke out there, I'd put it on a bracket in a heartbeat cuz you can make changes to her to accommodate that minimal weight shift. Until then my 450 pounder is gonna stay close.
