Anyone ever used Carbon Core?

Has anyone ever used Carbon Core honey comb panels for a deck replacement?
They also have a Transom compound that looks similar to SEACast.

I have requested samples of both and was contacted via phone a short time later. The rep. was very knowledgeable and professional and not pushy at all. Just wondering if any fellow SeaCrafters had used the products?

Haven't used it yet but I purchased (6) sheets of the 3/4" Honeycomb panels for my deck/cap coring.

Also am using their Coosa equivalent and have (3) sheets of their 3/4" CARBONCORE 3/4" heavy duty fiber reinforced board, 28lb density panels for my transom and any other high compression areas.

Only problems I've read about the honeycomb is that any cut edges need to be filled with thickened resin and it doesn't take a screw, so you need to cut out any areas that require a screw and replace it with wood or other high density material.

Haven't heard of these guys before. Pricing is way better than my cost on Baltek Airex Pxc through composites one.

Cost comes out the same as Composites one for a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 shipped (I get free shipping with Comp 1).
I suppose if I was ordering multiple sheets or other products the shipping would work out.
Still, nice to have options.

Yeah shipping always kills it on sheet goods. It's actually the main reason I went with this stuff, was the only thing I could find local.

Mounting things on vertical bulkheads requires thru bolts most of the time but as long as you glass the deck sufficiently you won’t have any problems. If you are screwing down consoles, leaning posts or deck hatches you just need to make sure add a little extra glass and maybe some composite strips underneath before you lay the deck. It is well worth the weight savings and strength using honey comb.

Yup exactly. I'm planning on thru-bolting just about everything for my build, so I have no qualms about using the honeycomb.
