Looks great. What kind of numbers are you getting out of the 300 Etec? I have the same set up (new motor last year 2015 etec 300) with a hermco bracket and am not happy with it at all. The shop I used raised the bracket because the previous engine needed a jackplate to get the Av plate out of the water and I am not sure if this messed things up on me. I can barely get 2 mpg and am stuck in the low to mid 30s top end.

What prop do you have on it?

Just my opinion.....those are terrible numbers. Those Gen1 eTecs are much, much better than that!!!

Agree. What prop and where's the mounting height? You should be pushing 45-50 mph top end.

I agree as well I was very disappointed with it. I didn't really get any help from my shop last year when I asked so I think this is going to be something I have to figure out. I ran the prop slip calculator and I am very high like 30%+. I tried to remove a transom mount transducer and clean up the water pick up t o see if the prop was getting bad water but it didn't help.

Right now it has the dealer installed viper 14 3/4 X 19.

I will measure where the av plate is in relation to the keel this weekend and post some shots of the back end.

Any help would be great given the circumstances last year the time I had to use it I went fishing, this year I need to dial it in. I liked it better with the old Fitch 225.

Your numbers are very low I’m running a power tech four blade 17 pitch and I’m very happy with it. I also had the viper 19 inch three blade from the dealer adequate but not what I was looking for and did not provide the lift I needed and that’s why I changed to the four blade. I’m doing 48-49range at about 5900 with the four blade prop the Viper was just at 50 miles an hour but again hard to check when you’re running in an open sea. Unless it’s flat Calm. Haven’t checked the fuel #s but have been satisfied with what I burn in a day of fishing..Hoping to feel well enough to bring the boat home and run it I can measure the motor height at that time I’ve been fighting Covid and then the Covid pneumonia came later so I’m still a little weak. Get the vaccine dealing with Covid certainly isn’t fun

Thanks for getting back to me and I hope you feel better soon.

Yes something is definitely wrong with my set up and it’s super frustrating I had thought about bringing to an other shop to dial in. If anyone knows of a spot on Cape Cod let me know. At this point with a small child at home the time I get to a pend on the water I would rather be fishing and it would be worth it to me to get this fixed.

I am around 5600-5700 with motor trimmed out (not sure of the trim %)

The AV plate is around 5.5-6in from the keel, it was a little hard to measure alone. Here is a shot of the set up. I already removed the transducer to see if that was causing bad water into the prop. I don't know if the tabs are the issue they had to be moved in closer to the engine to fit when the bracket was first installed. I am thinking about moving them back to where the should be.
