Default Double conversions

I saw comments about a double conversion (cuddy/I/O) to center console with outboard bracket. I am sure they were discussing one of my son's boats. This is a popular conversion in Florida where he bought it when on vacation. (To add to his collection of SeaCrafts.) It would be improved with a removable deckplate between the front bunks which become seats in this conversion. The thing that struck me recently was how similar this boat looks to a new Contender with its built-in bracket and high (and dry)transom. Looking at the cost comparison this conversion starting with a good hull with a junked I/O and a ragged out cabin may be worth considering.
