Default T-Top covering ?

Looking for a cheap way to replace my canvass top...
Anyone ever use the fiberglass 4x8 sheets from Home Depot..I was thinking I could rivet it to the top of the pipe or lace it on with cord ....cant spend much I have other repairs and just paid for this years slip....If it last a few years it will be fine....any ideas
