Default why we should not let our boats sit

well it has been 9 months since i used (actually was in water). well went out the other day and gave her a washing, greasing killed the hornets whom had mad a home on board. well i got a laundry list of things that are wrong.

1 shift shaft bushings have frozen up in the motor(80ish 175 merc). how hard are these to replace? cost i see for the parts are cheap.
2 trim tilt seems to work on occasion sometimes the motor just clicks sometimes she works. checked for loose wires and a dirty connections all are good now. also lost my up trim button in this time frame.
3 the motor will not turn left or right (old school hynautic) just sounds like the check valves in the helm are bypassing the pressure any hints or tips are appricated. just want to get the boat running againg so after i get married me and my wife can use it.
