Default Another 27 in Chatham and a Moesly Influenced 36

Just FYI, there is 1 more 27 in Chatham, I have been doing Charters for my friend Captain Joe Fitzback out of Ryders cove in Chatham, he liked my boat so much he decided to buy one for himself. He is planning on selling his 26 Fortier Down East boat, which is a great boat, but he is limited by the skinny water outside of Ryders at low tide and it will be years before they can dredge. I don't think it is going to get any better any time soon. He wanted something that he could navigate through the shallows and hold 6 passengers. He picked up a Red 1986 Master Angler 27 Center Console with Twin 1999 Two Stroke Yamaha OX 66 Outboards in Great Shape (Not sure what the final negotiated price was). I have some pics, just no time to post right now. The boat was down at the Silverhawk factory in NJ, where they just happen to be building a Pair of 36' Boats that look AMAZING. (In fact I believe he took the 27 in trade towards a 36') Scott, the owner had mentioned Carl Moesly had been involved in some regard to the design of the new hull, etc. I will get more information posted as I learn more. I hope to get the pics on line tonight, but I am still tied up at work.

By the way, he will run it like it is and then maybe repower in the spring. I am thinking (Judging by my boat) that a Single 300 E-tec which only weighs about 530 lbs would push that boat close to 35-40 Knots. I figure it is listed at 5000lbs, my Engine is 1800 lbs and it gets the job done and my boat weighs a lot more than 5000 lbs less the Engine. (I know mine is Diesel Power and it is a little different) I figure with all that reduced weight, he may just get away with it. He does not go offshore on a regular basis, just fishes around Chatham and Monomoy. I know this question belongs in another forum, I will do that when the time comes.

Had to add pics from the on line ad, my cell phone pic were blurry due to a cracked lens on my S3. Only one of my Silverhawk pics came out. I will have Scott e-mail me more, especially of the Hull.
