<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I filled opening in the front of my transom with 3/4 inch Seaboard (same stuff as Starboard, different brand, less advertising $$). This created a motor splash well. I used rubber like door insulaltion around the edge as a gasket. My season ended before i could use it on the water, but I tested it by quickly pouring 5 gallons of water in the well. The plastic didn't bow at all and only a little water dribbled by the gasket.
