Mounting the Engine

Has anyone ever attempted to mount a large (225-250) outboard themselves? How hard could it be? If you had the equipment to lift it in place, all you really have to do is bolt it in place? Right? Or is this something left to a proffesional..... Also, anyone using a jack plate?
