Dolls??? My trusty "Encyclopedia of Nautical Knowledge" doesn't say anything about dolls!!!
The actual term means: An enclosed space at the extreme aft end of a vessel where one can partake in the pleasure's of ones Sears catalog.  Seriously though, part of that definition was correct. I'm not going to say which....
