Default Best sealant choice for bedding through transom

I just pulled the bedding I used a few years back for sealing a 3/4" - 1" hole through my transom where my transducer cables/speedo cables go through. I had used Caulk Life. The 'plug' of silicone I pulled out was shaped like a 1.5" cork. It seemed to do well, but now that I am "here" again, is there a better option ? It's not below the water line, but I want no water intrusion. And, 5200 is not an option.

Oh, I also painted the transom wood in the hole w/ epoxy to seal the edges, but I still want the hole, bone-dry.
