Default water pickup location

I'm about ready to install the 1 inch bronze water pickup for my live well and washdown pump on my 20' sf. I'm just wondering if there will be any turbulance issues for the motor if I install it about 1 foot forward of the transom on the center panel away from the keel close to the chine. I will be hanging a 200 hp outboard on the 25" transom notch. Thus far I have glassed a pad in the bildge for the seacock and only drilled a small pilot hole. Anybody have any thoughts on this. Thanks -will
