We splashed the 21 today thanks to WildlandsJeff and his Duramax. While the truck was up to the task, mechanically, the boat was not (sure looks nice afloat, though) . The motor fired effortlessly and I backed it off the trailer toward the dock. I put it in forward gear to dock but as I neared the dock I tried to slow it down and bump it into reverse only to find the shifter cable unresponsive.
![]() Much to my dismay I was very close to an 83 year old skipper's beloved Whaler with a brand new Verado. I killed it, jumped to the dock from about 7ft away and did every thing I could to keep my bow off the new Verado. Fortunately there was no contact. Glad the fellow wasn't right there or he might have had a heart attack. For me that save made the mechanical failure more tolerable. Jeff busted out the wrenches but after a few adjustments it appeared that maybe a cable or its attachment broke... I have some time off this week so hopefully this gets resolved w/o taking it to a shop. Hopefully next outing we can give a ride report. Jeff took this nice promotional pic of San Diego Bay and skyline which I snagged this from his photobucket. ![]() ![]() ![]()
