Anyone know 27 SeaCraft CC History, Production #'s
I own a 1978 18' SeaCraft with a 150 Merc and a mid eighties 27 CC SeaCraft with twin 220hp D254/D4.2L BMW-VM(Italian)-Mercruiser-Cummins Diesels WITH POCKETED HULL! Being a mid 80's boat, thats way ahead of its time, really only the late model sportfishing boats are rockin that. Console w/ a head, lav. and rod storage. 2-100gal & 2-60gal (saddles) fuel, 20-30 gal H20 AND 20-30 gal holding tank. It has a T tower with 2nd station. LOTS to add but this is the meat and potatoes. I have been putting it straight for the past 2 years and am FINALLY seeing light. I dont have the exact year or vin#, kinda vital I know...lol, but I figure that I could get someone who has some knowledge of the imfo I have gathered and shed additional numbers. Here's what I have been told. The guy I got the boat from, lives in Homestead and has a 23, got it in Pensacola from a Captain who fished for awhile and lost one gear and was done with it. He asked the Captain what the story was on it and the guy said "Some Bass guy owned it". It had big "Offshore Angler" stickers on it and driving back to Homestead with it he couldn't help but wonder if it wasn't Johnny Morris-Worldwide Sportsman, Offshore Angler, Bass Pro Shops, Bass Guy- SeaCraft, long drive...lol. He went online and ran the womans name on the previous documents and he had hit it right on the head. She was CFO of the company it was registered to and madien name-Morris. His buddy worked for Worldwide or BassPro in some sort of management capacity, so he contacted him saying that he had the boat. Back and forth over a couple of months, they were basically blowing him off acting as if he didn't have the boat. He sent a copy of the documents and they responded, same day as opposed to weeks as before, and said we want a copy of the registration and the VIN# together, retarted really, like he was trying to BS them for some reason. Friend gets fired and the trail goes dead. This is what imfo he got on it all, There was 19-27's built. 16 were cabin boats (that number is backed up by the production #'s I found here or on Mosley's site) and 3 CC's and all of those were set up differently. Mine was in the mold when Morris bought SeaCraft and built it for himself, setting it up with gas inboards the shortly after going to the "NEW" Mercruiser/Cummins setup.I think there was 8 or 9 bilgepumps + 1 manual in the console. Guess if your worth that much you got the money to reeeeeally make sure you don't wanna sink! There is somemore mechanical happennings related to the powersetup but there's just not enough time in my day to relive it...lol Mine is in Key Largo as well as another owned by someone else in Key Largo, his with twin outboards. He approached me one day when I was moving mine off the trailer at the paint shop. Which leaves 1, but on here I saw some postings where people were saying that they had seen some 27CC's 4sale on Ebay or whatever, sooooo does anyone have any real numbers? I'll try to post the VIN# and year in a day or two with some pictures as well. This is truly a one of a kind boat, Ole Johnny Boy spared no expense, God Bless em! Appreciate any help.
