Default Leaking Gas Tank?

Hey guys - long time since i have checked in. Lots of cool projects going on. I am having an issue that I can not seem to figure out. I think I have a leaking tank. What is weird is that when conditions are dry, there are no signs of a leak (no sheening in the bilge or bad fuel odor). However if I get a bunch of water in the bilge, i get sheening and bad fuel odor. What gives? The boat is an '84 and the tank is original. Im thinking it is shot (nice fall project), but just dont understand why it would be apparent when wet and not dry. I have checked the sender gasket and the fill hoses and they all appear to be fine, so I am thinking it is a busted weld. Thanks for any thoughts you might be able to provide.

If it is a tank, who are we recommending for tanks these days?

Matt
