Default I'm not worthy

Hey Guys,

Its been a longtime since I've posted here. I need to relay a story from the weekend involving my 85' 23 CC. Please do not take this to seriously or be offended, because I had to laugh in the end.

So, I'm sitting in Martha's Vinyard this weekend at the dock in OB and waiting to pick a couple people up at the dock. A guy sees me pull up and is walks over to take a look at the boat. Anyone who owns a seacraft knows how people seem to gravitate and ask questions and check out the boat. In any event this guy say nice Seacraft (I repainted 8 or so years ago and like to think she's a pretty sharp looking boat.)

So we are talking about the boat and he finally asks "What year?" I reply its an 1985 and I repainted 10 years ago. The guy responds "Oh its not a "Potter Hull" and with a look of disgust walks away like I was on a hunk of $hit bayliner!!

As he walked away I just chuckled to myself and shook my head, my wife and friends came down, I'm still smirking and shaking my head, my wife asks whats the matter, I replied "nothing at all" and continued our day on the water on my inferior POS boat, what can I do? I'm not worthy.

P.S. If this guy knew anything about Seacrafts, from immediately looking at the boat he should have been able to tell approx. what year my hull was. I have owned this boat since 1996 and could not be happier with the construction and ride. Don't get me wrong the "Potters" are nice and very well built, but enough of the snobbery in regards to anything that is not a "Potter".

Again, please do not take this post too seriously and jump all over me. I told the story to a couple of the members here and they all said I needed to post up here. I just wanted to share what I think was a pretty funny experience with you guys and I love this site for the wealth of information and entertainment it provides.

Kevin
