Another SeaCraft and Otto Status
Drove down to Florida Friday and sea trailed Gatorbait's 1977 20 Seafari Saturday. When I arrived at Bay Pines Marina, St. Pete, I knew I was buying a boat. She is beautiful in person. Went thru the boat and then had her set in the water. While driving, I said to Dave "I'd have to be a real **** to try to renegotiate the price". He simply says, " there is no more negotiating". We had been "negotiating by phone" over two months. My first boat with trim tabs. Simply Awesome! Everything works. Stereo, VHF, lights, custom live well, windshield wiper, separate float and manual bilge pumps, she's pretty mint. Dave had Yacht Doctors do the refurb in 2012, and between the both of them they did not miss a thing. Even gave me a sample cutout of new transom! She travels perfectly on an old Rolls aluminum C-channel dual axle trailer with four new rims and tires, matching spare, spare hub assembly, pressure checked and hubs greased that morning, working lights and newer springs. Dave is a stand up guy and a gentleman to do business with. Trailered back to Hernando Beach, 2006 Etec 150 flushed, the hull washed, and tucked her in her new home. Even topped her off with non-Methanol for my return trip for Grouper.
Now she needs a new registration, two midship cleats, and the latest and greatest Garmin 7??? and I think I'm ready for Bimini. New fuel cell only holds 40 gallons... Anyway a few shots of my first turn key SeaCraft.
