25 SeaCraft with trim issues
I just purchased a 1999 25 seacraft with 09 F150 4 stroke yamahas. I have made about 10 fishing trips in the boat and feel that I cannot get enough bow up trim out of the boat. In a flat calm sea, wide open throttle, tabs up, motors trimmed up (yamaha trim gauges showing 3/4 up) right where it would cavitate if I trim any more, I get still have about 1/3 of the hull in the water. In a following sea I feel it bow steers too much and if I could trim the bow up more that would solve the issue.
I am thinking I need to add a lower unit extension kit to get the motors lower and able to get more trim out of the engines thus get more bow up. Motors are mounted in the lowest mounting holes.
Anyone else experienced this issue?
Below is a pic of the boat from the transom with the motors all the way down.
