Forward folding "hinged" console

I have seen several photos of a forward folding ("hinged") console/top on the straight inboards. I am looking to do something similar on my 72'. Has anyone done this and willing to share how it is anchored? excuse my ignorance if a thread already exists on this topic. THANKS!
