Default 23’ i/o motor mounts on stringer

I have a 1975 23’ Sceptre with an i/o set up. The bolts in the motor mounts are loose. Likely the wood they bolt into is rotted. (The transom has water but is not in need of work.) I want to verify my understanding... the stringers are fiberglass with possible foam inside. There is then a wood block glassed on top of the stringer used to secure the two motor mounts. My assumption is that i can cut out the two wood blocks and reglass some new wood blocks for the motor mount. Is that right? Am i missing something?

Source of problem was a failing coupler likely due to slight out of alignment due to loose motor mounts.
