Thru Hull for transom drain size??
I will be installing a new transom this weekend in my 20 footer and would like advice on what type and size of thru hull fitting others have used and would recommend for the transom drain/plug? I plan on drilling oversized, wetting out, filling with thickend epoxy and redrilling.
Any Advice would be appreciated. JW

Re: Thru Hull for transom drain size??
I used 1in sch 40 PVC. It's slightly recessed so that a Garboard Plug flang fits right in there. I even changed the angle of the tube, so no water would sit in the bildge.
A lot of boats will have a little water stay in the bildge unless you lift the bow real high. By changing the angle, it should stop that. |
