I am looking to buy a sea craft 1974.it has twin 200hp merc.the hull # is SECF3205M74I,he said it is a 24'.I do not know about sea craft boats.any info would help me out alot.i have heard about fuel tanks going bad that is about it.i am going to look at it next week.what am i looking for to tell what shap it is in? are there any know bad place to look for? any help would be great.thanks for your help and time. They are 23 foot 8 inches long. You will want to get a survey of it if you are looking to get the low down and dont have much experience in the way of boats. Tilt the engine up and pull down on the lower unit hard and look for flex in the transom. Walk around on the deck and look for soft spots. Inspect the bottom of the hull carefully looking for patches and or other signs of damage. Check the top cap for rot espically around the rod holders and cleats. Getting a professional survey is the best bet. They will run a title search and inspect the hull carefully. You will have to pay extra to get the engines looked at.
