I've been using Fellowship's Vortex check valves on my Seafari for a couple of months now and they work well. Boat is self bailing at dock with no one aboard, but I used to have to plug the scuppers when underway to avoid wet feet. I have 2 batteries, both on stbd side, but have gone with an Optima gel batt for the location at stbd chine, since it only weighs about 35 lbs. Batt No. 2 is a big group 27, ~ 60 lb, located under seat between stbd stringers.

Nope havnt talked to Ikan. The solution to me sounds like move the battery and put in ball scuppers.
Mark's 20 was rebuilt pretty extensively. Being local to you and with the experience and eye for extreme detail, he would be a good asset beyond our beer / vortex / rabuds response.

Raybuds... Or pingpong ball style. The worked for me. Check the every time you go out to see that no debris is affecting thier performance, this is the biggest issue with them not working. Also you can push the ball into the silicone skirt and no water will enter.

FYI you probably already know, use 3m 5200 on the screw holes you drill to seal . you will have a real wet boat problem, called soggy transom!

That's what I did, works about 75% of the time, depending on weight, etc.

I use them also .They work well except for debris like 3rdday said. They make that 3" model. Ive thought about enlarging the drains and trying them. The larger hole might solve the debis problem and would definintly drain faster if ya ever stuff the bow!
