Default 1979 Seacraft Center console questions

I am in the process of buying a 1979 23' seacraft cc and would like to know a little more about these boats before I buy it. I used to own a 1987 18' cc and loved it! I would like to know about the construction of the hull. There are a couple of soft spots on the deck (1' x 1') and the hatches need to be reinforced. Do these boats usually require the deck to be replaced? Is there wood in the stringers? Do the stringers ever require repair or replacement? What shoud one expect to pay for the boat which is clean in appearance, no bottom paint, Bimini top, no electronics, 1992 suzuki 225 that has not been run in 5 years but has good compression and a good aluminum trailer. I would like to eventually restore this boat and just wondering what I should expect. Thanks, Jim

Go to the Repairs and Mods forum and click on the 1st thread - Strick's "Here we go again," thats's a fine place to start. And if you get enthusiastic about what could be -- be prepared to put your golf clubs away for a while... Use the search function and be willing to go back a few years. Check out Trayder, Billythekid and a host of other guys that have seen it and done it all. The Repairs and Modifications forum is a gold mine.

Value $2000-5000 depending on too many things... Restoration cost? take a guess and double it to start

Thanks for the info! spent a couple of hours tooling around last night and gathered alot of good info. The guy is asking $6000 for the boat, motor and trailer. I'm going to go and check it out and hopefully buy it.
