Default I had my first ride on a 1980 23' Seacraft today

I had my first ride on a 1980 23' Seacraft today and I was completely blown away. I owned a 23' Sea Ox and that was amazing on the water, I sold it in July, because I wanted to buy a Center Console. So I have been looking for my new boat to replace the Sea Ox, and I have been disapointed by the ride every time. So I stumbled onto this site, joined and want to find the new old boat at the right price. Awesome site!

I had my first ride on one this spring. Judging by what I had heard from others and off this site, I bought a seacraft without a seatrial. Best gamble I ever made.

Welcome to the site, lots of great people and lots of help here.
I went through the same thing a couple years ago.I knew nothing about Seacrafts but a friend in the marine business kept saying that I needed to get either an Old Seacraft 23 or Formula 233.
He told me about their awesome rough water handling capabilities and turned me on to this site.

I found a 1974 Seacraft Tsunami 23'that had been sitting in a field for six years.I bought it and spent three years restoring it.
My first sea trial blew me away.I love this boat.Recently someone told me about a 25 Steigercraft with a diesel in great shape for a great price.
He asked me what my Seacraft was worth, said I could sell it and buy the Steiger.
I just looked at him like he was nuts.I told him there isn't enough money to buy my Seacraft.I know the Steiger is a very nice boat, but for a 23'The Seacraft is hard to beat, plus they just looks awesome, especially the Sceptre/Tsunamis.
They look like bat boats,or kind of like a stealth fighter.
I thought about painting it shades of flat gray, and telling people it was a rare boat built for Navy Seals.

There has not been a single time that someone in the marina hasn't asked me questions about it.At one time, I actually had a crowd all firing questions at me.What kind of boat is that?,what year is it?,what kind of hull design is that?,wow the cockpit is huge,is that the original color?. It was almost embarrassing.
One day when it was pretty nasty we came in to the dock, and had two guys, one in a 26'Baha Cruiser, and another in an older mid 20's Grady tell me they couldn't believe how fast I was able to go in that slop.

You are going to love that boat.good luck with it.
