Full Load Performance Numbers and a Few Pics

I finally got some performance numbers with my boat fully loaded and almost fully rigged. A few details to the console and trim pieces but I've had her out about seven times already. So, I'm running a Solas Amita 3 blade aluminum 13.5" X 15 pitch prop on my 06 Yamaha F115. Speed numbers are MPH/statute miles.

This is with just me and the bait tank full which is a monster at about 50 gallons. I know, it's a bunch of water but I got a good deal on it used and fish bait a lot. Most of the time it will be running about 35 gallons of water anyway (adjustable level) so running full simulated having a passenger on board, or at least half of one.

Here are some pictures showing how the stern/scuppers sit. It was really light, almost too light when the tank and lean post were not there. With the tank empty it sits about how I would really like it and performs really nicely, quick out of the hole, lots of power in the mid to upper range! With water in the tank it is a bit more sluggish but not bad. I'm going to try a stainless 4 blade soon to see how much better that does. I'm willing to lose the speed to gain some consistency in power when fully loaded. It is a bit of a struggle to hold that 14mph planing speed and I'd really like to have that if possible. I hope it pans out but I'm pretty happy as is!

Glad you got out of the burn zone for a while. Lookin good. Huge bait tank, but keeps the bait fresh. 4 blade will help. Check out PowerTech MQF 4 and SCD 4

No, live monster sized sardines that day out of Del Rey. Apparently, they only found this bait for a week or so, everything else has been tiny anchovies. I also had a 10lb maybe 15 minutes after that in the same spot. It was mothers day so I had to leave them biting and head in early. The other interesting thing is I caught five baby octopus, well, most of them were just hanging on to the bait, not hooked. I've only caught one before personally in all my time in that area, pretty cool.

Interestingly, on my 74 20ft CC SF I am now using a 13 7/8 X 15 SST prop on my new E-TEC 115 and my numbers are virtually identical to yours. The only difference perhaps is that I am carrying a fairly hefty T-Top which does throw in some wind resistence.

I am pretty happy with the performance at this point.

With a Yammie F100 plus a kicker, probably similar transom weight, I run a touch slower with the Solas Amita 4 blade in 13x15 in aluminum. Plus a hydroshield. 33MPH. Same revs. Sometimes I can plane down to 12, mostly 14. I would try the 4 blade, and then a hydroshield if you want that low planing speed.

I didn't put them down unfortunately but that would be wise to do before switching props.
