Here is my boat with the hatch off. You can see the fuel fill and sending unit but the skin hides the tank. I'm wondering if my coffin is full of water. Was yours? Sorry for the confusion.

Mine was not holding water. However the foam was damp and obviously had held water because of the dime sized holes eaten through the aluminum tank at the top of the foam line.
Also, there are two 3/4" holes aft of coffin at the bottom for drains. The port side was essentially foamed closed during tank install. My "inspection plate" was located between the Captain chairs. This time the new tank will have fill, vent and sending unit forward of rear hatch, under console in an attempt to positive fill both on the trailer as well as on the water. Two pick ups as far aft as practical. Then the 100 pound monofilament in the hatch trough and Life Caulk. Should be good to go. |
