poly fuel tanks ??

any input...I am having my 95 gal tank pulled out ,they have to move the console and cut the deck ...the guy doing the work said to go with a poly tank....I can get away with 60 gals..anyone have a poly tank.. how do they hold up...my new 2015 optimax wants good fuel

I run a poly tank in my 23. no complaints here. I foamed it in.

Positives and negatives for all the tank material choices. Just make sure it is installed properly and that you have access to the sender and other fittings, so when one of them goes bad you don't have to pop your deck or console off to get to it

I put a poly in my 18 a few years ago.
Its really a much better alternative than burying an aluminum tank down in the bilge.
But...
Only if you can find one the right dimensions and capacity to satisfy your needs. Sometimes a custom aluminum is the only way you can go.

If you go poly keep in mind the tank will expand by about 3% once its filled with gas. Need to give it a little room when you install it.

Big and anyone else running poly in a 23 footer which tank brand did you go with? any issues on fitment (had to raise deck etc).

If you know the model number of the tank that would be great as well.

With poly tanks make sure the threaded inserts for the sending unit are stainless....I've seen galvanized ones disappear. Make sure the pickups are cut at an angle....poly tanks can sag and I had one in an 18ft boat sag and cause the square cut pickup tube to
touch the bottom.
