Sceptre with 383.....
The fun conversation seems to point towards 383 as the performance power option.
More torque, lower rpm with higher cruising speed......top around 50mph. Is that the ultimate reasonable power option ? Note I write..." reasonable" because of course almost anything could be done. |

http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...951#post232951 I spoke w him about it and I think he said it chine walked a bit with the 383 but I don't know how it was set up. FWIW I will likely be replacing my 5.7 with a 6.0. I already replaced my Alpha with a Bravo 1X so it can handle the torque and the 6.0 is a Gen IV SB motor with the better efficiency. The Gen V motors came out recently - no 6.0 (although it is still in production as Gen IV), but they added a really nice aluminum 6.2 (L86) using the VVT, direct injection, and 12 more CI for big $$. At the rate I'm going, Gen VI might be out in time... |
