1979 Master Angler Improvements
Making progress toward some improvements to the MA. Past week rebuilt starboard side of (1979 or newer?) QuickLoad Aluminum I-Beam dual axle trailer to match port side done awhile back and has not seen any water. No title, brakes, or registration required in South Carolina. This trailer will support and be sold with 1976 SeaCraft Seafari 20 project, when ready and fee will be paid.
Beginning with new factory size aluminum tank (78 gal.), coal tar epoxied, and sitting in a tub of foam in four base corners. Recored two main fuel hatch covers, forward hatch and a new hold and recessed hatch forward of large console. Seat to be removed from forward side of console and console moved forward three inches. Console flange to be removed. All teak trim to be removed, including using swim ladder as template, to be replaced almond, ie.: BW Desert Tan, White Matterhorn Oyster Navajo Shell... new StarBoard. Bow cleats being removed, Perko bow light becoming low profile (LEDs) port and starboard of console. Sampson Post over upgraded bow eye, and trapezoid recessed hatch with tube for anchor shaft. Louvered starboard front hatch into lowered floor of anchor well, SC logo. Same for opening rear of console and one rear starboard louvered door for bilge inspection. May remove rear transom hatches, save, and replace with starboard and cutting boards on top. New console glass and paint, removing every hole. Remove classic style mahogany window frame with tinted sliders and may sell. Cool shit, or maybe just sentimental. New custom breaker panel, thinking possible blue LED backlight, eight new switches, and classic SeaCraft logo. OEM Fuel, Volts and Hour meter below in switch panel. Garmin 7” screen and tach on dash. Future son in law/friend in the industry. Whatchathinkin’? |

On Target to spend a little more than quoted. Kid wants underwater lights and gunnel rope LEDs. Kinda digging it.

Well removing hatch cores sucks. Trying to save a little jing before it heads around the corner to shop. Front smaller fuel hatch was in really good shape. Appears to have a layer of resin poured over fabric prior to setting balsam blocks. You can see it at bottom right of photo.

Main hatch not so fortunate. Been thru a few times already. Going to have to carefully go grinder method on this one. Oscillating tool blasting thru wood on forward hatch.

Also able to remove top of mahogany console cover but I remember 5200 on install, back when it was available in white, black or brown. 1999? It’s srill a nice piece. Pretty accurate reproduction of stock, built by my dad.
