18sf console position
Hi,
I bought a 1976 18sf and I am wondering how to tell if the console was moved forward? Does anyone have the stock distance from the front raised deck to the front of the console? Thanks! |

Here's a pic of my unmolested 18SF before I moved the console forward.
Not the best, but kind of gives you an idea of where it landed on the fuel tank hatch cover.

Here you can kind of see where she landed after:

I never measured that distance before moving mine forward. I remember the front edge of the fuel tank hatch stuck out about 4 or 5 inches in front of the console. I moved my console forward +/- 9" to completely cover the hatch.

From the bottom lip of the stock center console to the forward box, it is 28.5".

Huh, that's weird.
How about now? (Up there ↑)

Keep in mind your cable lengths and wiring length. I had already replaced all of these before I moved mine so I only moved it a few inches forward so I wouldn’t have to replace them again. It still made a nice difference.

I can see it now, it had some weird grey circle with a dash in it. I am pretty sure mine is stock, that helped a lot thanks!!
