Gouge in bottom

I just purchased my old Seacraft back after 8 yrs. it appears to have a gouge from the trailer the previous owner was using. It's about 1/4" wide x 6" long. It went through the bottom and I can see the glass. I may be seeping. It's right alone the stringer. What's the best way to repair? After the summer I will have a complete redo on the entire boat so I'm looking for an easy but safe "patch" idea.

Thru the bottom or thru the gelcoat and into the fiberglass?

Its through the gel coat. I can see the fiberglass. It's minor but needs a patch. Again in Oct I'm having the entire boat refurbished

Thickened epoxy would be my fix

Clean it good and remove any loose gelcoat. Scuff it up with 120 grit paper. Wipe with acetone. Use a acid brush to paint in some gelcoat. Sand as smooth as you wish. Will seal it up and last a season.

If you uses epoxy, you can’t go over it later with gelcoat. Won’t stick.
