2001 ficht Evenrude -any problems?
I've got a dealer that I've known for years that has 2 2001 135 Evenrudes for sale $6000 - low hours, repower. Anything I should know about? They will be for my 23' cc project on bracket.

Ya might want to look up the 2001 on thehulltruth.com . People either really love them or can't unload them for 50 cents on the dollar... The prices look good which is why I've asked on them too...

Re: 2001 ficht Evenrude -any problems?
The 2001 should be ok. If they are used ask them what the hours are. They can hook into the ecu and it will show the exact hours. If the engines have over 100hrs. on them then they are ok. Back then if the engine was going to go it would have happened within the 60 hr. mark. Any older di that has over 100hrs should be ok. Once you get into the 2002 and newer di's there are no problems with these engines.

Joe, I heard that Bombardier was going to change the name ficth but keep that technology the same with a different name, is this going to be the E-Tech or is that going to be a different technology all together, thanks RS.

Re: 2001 ficht Evenrude -any problems?
The E-Tec is a more advanced DI engine. THe ficht name was suppose to be dropped in the 2003 line up but it is still on the motor covers. We still dont know that much on the e-tec engines as of yet.
