Re: What goes in the crack?
I think crack is a form of cocaine. It goes in the pipe. Ask Rumsfeld.

Re: What goes in the crack?
Enough from the crack heads. I guess I asked for it. How about something helpful?

Re: What goes in the crack?
Take a picture and post it. If it right where the deck meets the gunwale my guess is that either the radius of the inner liner failed and CRACKED due to unknown stresses or someone else did a S#!++y job replacing the floor at some point. Either way your going to have to grind away and re-glass. Caulk or adhesive ain't gonna cut it...You might start by doing a search of deck or floor replacements and read Strick's post "Here we go again" at the top of this forum. If you explore this very forum to your heart's content, you'll probably gather enough knowledge to add a DSR (Doctorate of SeaCraft Restoration)to your resume'
Good luck.

Re: What goes in the crack?
Yes. There is a 3/4 inch gap between the lip of the floor and the gunwale on both sides from the bow to the stern. The carpet extends into the crack about an inch. I will get some close-ups tomorrow.

Re: What goes in the GAP?
That's what I am talking about! Is the gap meant to be left open or should it be sealed with some kind of caulk?

Re: What goes in the GAP?
This is how most full deck/liners are installed. |
