Results: success! As soon as my wife put HGTV on last night I got up went outside and did the job in 5 mins. Not sure what I was fretting about.
1. Took end cap off motor well side of bumper trim. Took out 1 long screw that secures trim to boat. 2. Pushed best I could bumper trim along transom end to take out slack, moved about 1/2 inch. 3. placed bottom edge of displaced trim into grove, then took dull flat head screwdriver and got the bead of the top of the trim worked back into its spot. 4. whacked away with rubber mallet. (still have one of these from when cars had hubcaps) Back in action. Tx all!
