If you've been on the The Hull Truth and seen some of the professional "Seacraft to Conch" restores - i can tell you about what those cost. No offense but if you think those kinds of restores cost 15-20k then your jaw will drop when you find out what it really costs.

The cost to pay a professional shop to build one is what drives traffic on this site. Everyone is up here trying to figure out how to do it themselves to make it more affordable to own a classic Potter/Moesly boat. All the dyi info up here is what makes it possible for many of us myself included.

I just saw a 23 secraft redone by Conch at Birsall Marine. Over 85k in the boat with a single motor!! I'm sure the boat had 2k worth of rod holders ever 2 inches....

Is that the one they cut 2 feet off the hull? There is a very long thread about it on THT.

There's been a few documented over there and yes one of them was shortened. The point being that's 100% custom and professional work and it don't come cheap. For something of that caliber you can expect to drop $60,000 before you buy engine and electronics.
Frizzle is correct - it's what drives this site..........me doing the work is certainly the only way I could afford to own/buy one!!! |

Not many can stroke a check for a resto like Todd`s Lures or many others. I still have primary wiring to do on my 20. I hate wiring. Damn gremlins. I`m getting better...slowly |

I am going through the restoration process right now (See Scamp 15). I can say with absolute certainty that a full restoration on a boat that size would easily exceed 50k.

Ryan, I think so. I had to do a double take on the front of the hull. Boat was beautiful.
