I found this little chunk of what looked and felt like silicone stuck in my supply elbow at the back of the tank. Maybe previous owner had used silicone to seal a fill cap, or fuel sender or something. Phase separation?

The silicone omg the pickup would account for one motor - this is happening to both.

If something is in the fuel tank - there doesn't seem to be an easy way to remove it - or to confirm that something is in there.
