I ran a Rev4 on my 23 with a 225hp 3.0L Mariner a while ago. The 3.0L was way too thirsty for my taste, so I didn't run it very long. Mid range cruise and low speed operation is great with the rev4. It has a ton of stern lift and almost never blows out. It's not the fastest prop if that's what you are chasing. I think you'd like a 17P enertia (not the GIANT ECO enertia). ![]() |

Thanks for the feedback gents! The current prop is an Mirage Plus 17p. I am definitely not after top speed, but I do want to maintain the ability to comfortably cruise at around 30mph. think I will try the Rev4 next, but before I do - I will take a better pic of the AV plate at fast cruise and get a good reading on of RPM at WOT. Will report back once I do. Was planning to run the boat tomorrow but the weather is crap, so it will likely be next weekend.

I had to run the Mirage Plus deeper than the Rev4, enertia, or highfive. If you are blowing out now with the Mirage Plus, I'd try a 17p rev4 and see how it goes without changing the engine height.

Had a chance to run the boat again. Took a picture of the AV plate at cruise - still looks buried. With 2 people on board and 1/2 tank of gas, WOT is 43MPH at around 5700RPM. The tachometer is being a bit flaky, so I do not have 100% confidence in that number (its always something). I recently bought a used Rev 4 17p to try, but as I was about to put it on, I realized that it interferes with the trim tab, and the tab will need to be clearanced. I did not have the tools with me, so I will try the Rev 4 next time.

I ran the boat with the 17p Rev 4 on Saturday and its a winner! Improved holeshot, better cruise, does not blow out in turns, and the boat just feels more planted! Lost 2mph on the top end, but I am not concerned. Cruise is 32mph at 4500rpm and the boat/motor seems happy
![]() I am sure I can go up one more hole (as high as it will go), but will leave it as-is. Better is the enemy of good. |
