Rustoleum makes a polyurethane topside paint, Lowe's sells it. That stuff is for real! $14.00 per quart. Prep the surface properly.

On the vhf, I would mount it in the cabin and use a command mic at the helm.

carpet removal
I have a 1979 scepter located in Osterville and redid it about 7 years ago. I located the VHF on the starboard side ceiling which works fine but I do not use it a lot. I have a portable unit as well that I plug into an accessory port at the helm.
I ripped out the shag rug and applied/painted the ceiling with a truck bedliner material I purchased on line. forget the name of the product but you can go on line and find one that can be applied to fiberglass. it was a little messy but worked great. It has a little texture to it so it covers any imperfections in the fiberglass. The boat is covered now but feel free to call me in the spring, 617-285-0278, if you want to take a look. |

I also ripped out the mouse fur in the ceiling of my Seafari cabin and painted it with Rustoleum. Cabin got way brighter and cleaner looking.
