I'm putting new aftermarket rotors on the Nissan Armada to get ready for the trip. I hate replacing trailer brakes, and the price of my front rotors is half the cost! it looks like the sceptre will see some water on Saturday. Got to get on that dive certification so that Marsha errr Terry can show me the ropes on spearing here the Gulf! it's going to be a great time in Sebastian this year. No more rain! the motel looks great Ken.

Any idea of the average water temp near Long Point in early May? i.e. SCUBA wetsuit?

Sandy, It's same as as in "Dog Years", a water temp of 75 is like 28 degrees F to us Crackers!!!! Conner would need a dry suit for 75 degrees and Kenny and I'd need a 1/4" wet suit just because we have more blubber.

Now Terry, lets not exaggerate. I'd sure "like" a dry suit in 75 degrees, but got by just fine Friday(75 degrees) with a 3 mil Elios (which approaches a dry suit for warmth).

Did not go in, but your place looked real good and we sure appreciated the dock. Thanks!

Connor

Last year I dove in 150' and less with no wetsuit but like Terry says, I have a little more insulation than most. The visibility will be the limiting factor as it was completely fine for spearfishing with tanks but the thermoclines kept it to around 20' max. I will say though that if you find a decent spot the gags start at 15 lbs. and go up from there.

More than anything I am excited to get out and troll. Mel and I had a great time catching dolphin and wahoo with just basic trolling gear. If the weather is suitable we should consider a friendly SC tourney just to make it interesting.
