Fuel hose length
Hey guys. What is the length of 1 1/2" fuel hose needed to get from the filler to a standard tank on a 23' Sceptre i/o ? The filler is in stock location on the gunnel and the tank itself has it's pick-up location in the front/forward part of the tank in the center.
I do not want to pull out the original /shot hose, 'cause I think I may need it to snake the old hose through. Anyone ever installed a new fuel hose on these boats - chime in w/ any insight. As you know it is a fairly stiff hose and the instal 'seems' a bit tough. Thx, Alan PS: Transom has been manfactured and will be installed within the week ( if the weather holds up ). Then, new stringer/motor mounts. Then, close up enlarged i/o floor space and cover. Then....a beer ? or three... I support the 3-4 BEER theory !!! |

Re: Fuel hose length
Alan,
We replaced the fuel hose on our Sceptre last season and it was relatively simple. The hose attaches to the rear of our tank, not the middle, and I think we used about 12 feet total. Tape the new hose to the old hose and snake it towards the filler (you'll need to remove the filler from the gunwale). As you say, the hose is stiff, but it's not real difficult to deal with. Good luck. |
