Default foam aft and in front of fuel tank

pulled fuel tank out of 20ft seacraft c.c. section directly in front and behind tank has foam does this foam extend all the way to bottom on the floor liner or is there a void of about 2 inches form bottom of floor to the foam in which is the case of my boat....should these areas need foam for support or what...

Don't know what year your boat is but, if it has a factory fuel hatch, then the tank is sitting on a glass covered plywood panel that is tabbed into the stringes on both sides. You can pull out all the foam. It shouldn't be on the hull.

Earlier boats had the fuel tank inside the console seat, above deck.
