Different Seacraft Yellows?
I am getting close to having all of my finish work done on my Savage and wanted to paint the sides yellow. I have been told a great new product called Allcraft 2000. Anyone heard of it? I have heard it is easy to fix runs or issues, and very nice to work with and priced well.
Question 2 is I was curious what different yellows did Seacraft have back in the 70's? I am leaning towards "Fighting Lady " yellow but not 100% decided.

Re: Different Seacraft Yellows?
It is called AwlCraft 2000, it is made by the same folks who make AwlGrip, Awlgrip is a polyurethane, AwlCraft is an acryllic, it is easier to blend, wet sand and buff. I wouldn't call it cheap, it is a very good product, so is AlexSeal which is the same base. You will be happy with either, just try to get the best pricing, good luck!

Re: Different Seacraft Yellows?
I used it to spray this boat a couple of years ago. I found it to be the nicest paint I have used to date.

Re: Different Seacraft Yellows?
Ken, I read somewhere that "Fighting Lady Yellow" was the standard yellow for the Potter/post-Moesly hulls. Is that right? I know I really liked the yellow of my '82 23 when I had it. It was a bit brighter than your hull, but not much.

Re: Different Seacraft Yellows?
It was a very bright yellow, which I didn't care for much and it didn't do well in the Fla sun, of course the red didn't either, this sun is tough. I think there is boat in the gallery with it

Re: Different Seacraft Yellows?
I ended up going with Imron MS600 in their version of FLY which is called Sea Goddess Yellow, Renee likes the sound of it better lol. and went with an off white on the top deck and insides. For the record, I was told it is easy to spray their medium non skid and it was but it goes everywhere I am planning on rolling it next time. The Hull looks fantastic but I have two small sections I need to re sand and blend as they had a tiny run. All in all very easy to work with the imron, and I only used about 2 Qts once mixed on the exterior and about the same on the interior. Total paint costs were $258, with all the catalysts, erducers, etc. And I have a solid Qt left in both yellow and white for touching up. Pics coming soon.
