Default Water in Fuel Tank

Two part question - no three; (1)is there a sure fire way to remove all the water from your tank? (2) is there a way to minimize water intrusion? (3) whats the best additive to deal with it if 1 & 2 don't work? I tilted the boat up both side & long ways so all liquid gathered along the edge & at different levels. I have a gas pump from work & was able to get almost all liquid out. I could see a few water droplets thru the fuel level guage opening left on the bottom of the tank. I installed a new o-ring on the deck plug. I have a fuel/water seperator, but not the kind w/a bottom bowl & tap. Do those type work any better than the single cartridge? Am I missing anything?

You did all you could although you could throw a bit of Evinrude 2+4 in there which will mix the water and run it out. Your filter should work fine just pull it and drain it to check, pour it in something you see any water. I picked up some in the keys for the second time but have been checking the filter and nothing since.

Those clear bowl Racors just make it easier to check/see, otherwise just pull and drain the filter in something to check it. You will have to refill the filter with fuel though.
