Fuel Tank Price
What have people paid (ball park) for a 2x5'x8'' aluminum tank. I found some corrosion on mine and will be replacing it before I glass the hatch cover back down.
I am in the West Palm Beach area. I got a quote for $600 and thought that sounded kinda high, but really have no clue. I appreciate the help.Thanks. |

Re: Fuel Tank Price
MOST OF THE PRICING I'VE SEEN IS BASED ON HOW MANY GALLONS THE TANK WILL BE. It would help if you listed how many gallon tank it is in addition to the dimensions. You'll probably get a better response.
A couple of guys have mentioned a guy down in the FL area, somewhere centrally located that is both good a reasonable. Please note, I said reasonable, not cheap. His work seems to have a excellent reputation and a number of guys haved ponied up the price of confidence and piece of mind. I just forget the name. You might want to do a search. My apologies for all caps in the first sentence. I was working on another site before I came back to this one. Have a good night!

Re: Fuel Tank Price
checking another thread, also out of WPB regarding looking for a tank builder, it reminded that I would be looking a 7-900 for a 140 gal. tank. I think I remember people taliking in the range of 5/gal to 8/gal cost of a new tank, depending on baffles, ports/vents with or w/o fuel gauge sender, etc.

Re: Fuel Tank Price
A 56 gal tank cost me $400. I think I got a pretty good deal.

Re: Fuel Tank Price
There are 7.48 gallons in a Cubic foot. your tank dimensions equal 6.66 CF so your proposed tank will hold appox. 50 gallons.

Quote:
Sunrise Tanks I got my 55 gal tank for $405, including sender. I know he used to do a lot of OEM tanks in SE Fl. and still goes over there every so often. Give him a call it may be worth it. I know he did a few tanks for some other members on the sight.

Re: Fuel Tank Price
I just paid $669 for a 75 gallon tank with fill and vent , two fuel pickup w/anti siphon valves and gauge sender. Use the following formula, LxWxH (inches) divided by 231 and that will give you your capacity. $600 is in the ball park.

Re: Fuel Tank Price
Tony built both my fuel tanks and water tank for the 27. Great job, highly recommend. Would go back again.

Re: Fuel Tank Price
Marine Connection Liquidators might have one that fits on the shelf. The cost is roughly $3.50/gallon and less for plastic.
