Default Bracket on 23 Sceptre

My Sceptre is due for a transom job and was thinking about going with a bracket closed transom.Does anyone here have this set up?I would love to hear your opinions, performance, pros&cons and see pics.I haven't seen any 23 Sceptres with brackets on this site only cc's.
Thanks

no better way to go in my opinion you can't beat a full
transom.I had 200 mercs 58mph, 250 mercs 65mph within
the next 2 months i should have #'s on 150 opti's one together one to go I lost all my pictures when my comp.crashed lets see if Ken has has some he can post.

I had a local fiberglass guy that has refurbished 13 Seacrafts over the years look at my boat today and he said the bracket is the only way to go.
I'm leaning towards a Hermco double wide bracket with a 300hp Suzuki 30"shaft.I would love to go with twins but its not in the budget.
Keep the pics and comments coming. Thanks

I have a Armstrong bracket on a Sceptre. I went with the Armstrong because I found it for 200 bucks. It seems to work well. When I first put it together, it had a 250 merc efi on it, now it has the Suzuki 250. I did move the batteries forward.

As for balance, I used to carry 100-150 gals of gas, now I carry 60-85, so I am actually lighter than I was with the efi, but there is a little more weight in the back.

If have a thread on the rebuild at

Hey John, your boat looks sweet.I love the hard top.
How does your boat sit in the water with the bracket?
My Sceptre seems to be bow heavy and does not drain well at rest. Was your boat this way before you put on the bracket?
My concern is will a full floatation Hermco bracket make it worse?
How is that 250zuk on fuel? My carbed Merc is killing me.
