Original Moesly Livewell Overflow
I've heard of various options/modifications regarding the original livewell overflow in the transom of the Moesly design. Any photos available of applications which retain the original design/function?
I took mine apart to check for any signs of water damage to the transom and the good news is that it looks to have been very well sealed by the previous owner...the bad news is that I left the original PYHI deck plate lid on the trailer bunk and lost it on the road . Thanks in advance! PS: The science fair experiment that was growing in the livewell is all cleaned out! LOL |

Re: Original Moesly Livewell Overflow
You might be able to replace the outer Pyhi plate with a new plastic one. Looks like the inside plate which you'd want to keep, is just a screen to keep bait in while letting water out? Later versions like mine had Pyhi plate on the inside with small holes in the fg skin to provide the strainer function.
This pic shows the 3/8" pvc water supply tube and the thru-hull/overflow I added after the Hermco flotation tank covered up original inlet/overflow. Overflow is above original waterline, increasing capacity of baitwell. Used some 3/8" ID hose to connect water pickup to another piece of pvc that goes thru transom into top of baitwell. Turn on water by shoving tube down about and inch till hose contacts dive platform. Inside shot of baitwell shows white pvc water inlet tube at upper left, just barely visible at left of wire conduit. A plastic mesh screen, not shown in this picture, fits over inside of overflow thru-hull fitting.
